Holiday Payroll Updates

Holiday Observances

Please note — CPU will be closed on the following days:

  • Thursday-Friday, November 23-24
  • Monday, December 25
  • Monday, January 1
Year-End Reminder

If you will be having any bonus runs:

  • Please submit your bonus information using this link to Microsoft Forms at least a week prior to needing to process the bonuses
  • We have some processing tools that can facilitate doing these bonus runs if you give us advance notice of needing to pay the bonuses, so please reach out to your processor a week or two prior to needing to pay the bonuses
  • There may be some additional fees for Grossing Up checks or other special requirements


If you have any of the following, please gather the information and have them ready to be entered into payroll before the last payroll of the year:

  • S-Corp Health Insurance
  • Personal Use of Vehicle
  • Group Term Life in Excess of $50,000
  • Employer paid Health Insurance to be recorded on W2
  • 3rd Party Sick Pay


Also, a reminder that for any direct deposit over $100,000 for an individual or $500,000 for the entire payroll, a 5-day processing window will be needed.

Thanksgiving Payroll Dates

If your check date is planned for November 23, please reschedule as follows:

To receive your direct deposits before the bank holiday:

  • Please reschedule your check date for 11/22.
  • Submit your payroll by 11/20, before 12:00 pm.


To receive your direct deposits the day after the bank holiday:

  • Update the check date to 11/24.
  • Please submit your payroll 11/21, before 12:00 pm.


If your normal check date is 11/24, submit your payroll by 11/21, before 12:00 pm. If your normal check date is 11/27, submit your payroll by 11/22, before 12:00 pm. If your normal check date is 11/28, submit your payroll by 11/22, before 12:00 pm.

Christmas Payroll Dates

If your check date is planned for December 25, please reschedule as follows:

To receive your direct deposits before the bank holiday:

  • Please reschedule your check date for 12/22.
  • Submit your payroll by 12/20, before 12:00 pm.


To receive your direct deposits the day after the bank holiday:

  • Update the check date to 12/26.
  • Please submit your payroll 12/21, before 12:00 pm.


If your normal check date is 12/26, submit your payroll by 12/21, before 12:00 pm. If your normal check date is 12/27, submit your payroll by 12/22, before 12:00 pm.

New Year Payroll Dates

If your check date is planned for January 1, please reschedule as follows:

To receive your direct deposits before the bank holiday:

  • Please reschedule your check date for 12/29.
  • Submit your payroll by 12/27, before 12:00 pm.


To receive your direct deposits the day after the bank holiday:

  • Update the check date to 1/2.
  • Please submit your payroll 12/28, before 12:00 pm.


If your normal check date is 1/2, submit your payroll by 12/28, before 12:00 pm. If your normal check date is 1/3, submit your payroll by 12/29, before 12:00 pm.
